Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Kendra Simpkins, on air from April 18th
Kendra Simpkins journey really began when she was honorably discharged from the US Army in 2010 after having suffered a service-connected injury. Having attempted suicide the military quickly discharged her without appropriate mental health care and she was left to transition into the civilian world while struggling with depression and substance use. Now having found her way to recovery and being 5 years sober, her experience led her on the path to helping other service members still struggling with mental health issues that are not being appropriately dealt with through the Veterans Affairs.

RRT is an accelerated healing method that is gentle and painless. It’s an innovative approach developed by Dr. Jon Connelly that eliminates traumatic events from the past that cause painful emotions, thoughts and behaviours. RRT is task-oriented and effect-driven to clear the root cause. The RRT session will last until the task is complete and the mind is cleared.
The RRT process does not require individuals to relive painful past experiences or trauma. Conflict blocking desired change is resolved on a deeper level producing immediate relief and lasting change in emotions and behaviour. Practitioners report significant improvements in as little as one or two sessions, and clients report an immediate sense of peace, clarity and energy. RRT can help with a range of issues and conditions including PTSD, sexual trauma and complicated grief.
Kendra is currently a Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) practitioner trained and supervised by founder Dr. Jon Connelly. She received her Master’s of Science from Columbia University in New York City, and her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Florida (USF) where she developed an interest in working with veterans. As a US Army veteran, Kendra specializes in military-related trauma and provides a unique perspective to treat veteran mental health issues that are not addressed through Veterans Affairs programs. Before opening Sarasota Rapid Resolution Therapy, Kendra was using the Bio-Acoustical Utilization Device (BAUD) and doing dialectical behaviour therapy with high-risk individuals in private practice and a veteran’s benefits counsellor at USF and the Salvation Army. She received clinical training with the largest non-profit organization in NYC providing therapeutic counselling to homeless veterans. As a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern, she connected to using RRT with individuals because they were leaving one session having a sense of relief, peace, and energy after one session of clearing painful past experiences; it almost seemed a disservice to not provide this to as many people as possible. Kendra provides RRT for a wide range of mental health conditions ranging from PTSD and sexual trauma to grief, depression or any general feeling of being stuck from past experiences. Trained in cognitive-behavioral methods, Kendra finds RRT to be results-driven and the most effective form of treatment, far exceeding traditional methods of treatment or “talk therapy.” She regularly attends training’s with Dr. Connelly throughout the year and teaches workshops on strategies for transformation and healing. Kendra spends her time as a mentor with the Wounded Warrior Project and is also a veteran motivational speaker for Bravo748.
Sarasota Rapid Resolution Therapy has been invited to team with MindSpa Integrative Wellness Center, which is a team of practitioners who believe in using effective holistic and alternative modalities of treatment. Sarasota Rapid Resolution Therapy was also chosen last week by Street Shares as a finalist to receive a veteran small business grant. If selected funding will go towards proving veterans with the opportunity to receive RRT for immediate and lasting relief from trauma.
