Their Story Matters with Sara troy and her guest Denise Antoon, J.D., M.S., on air from January 17th
Human Trafficking is Modern Day Slavery. There are more slaves today than any time in history. Human Trafficking is defined as the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labour or commercial sex act.
The International Labour Organization estimates that there are 20.9 million victims of human trafficking globally.
68% of them are trapped in forced labour.
26% of them are children.
55% are women and girls.
The International Labor Organization estimates that forced labour and human trafficking is a $150 billion industry worldwide.
Companies lose an estimated $12 Billion a year because employees are using company time and resources for pornography and prostitution.
Our mission is to educate and eradicate human trafficking in business. The travel industry and businesses are just now starting to take a stand against the fastest growing crime.
People are not aware how prevalent it is or that it is happening in plain site. This is not just an “over there” problem. This is a crime happening in your own backyard. It happens in hotels, restaurants, farms, factories and even major sporting events. The Super Bowl is the single largest incident of human trafficking each year. Ignoring the problem is makes society more complacent in it.
